About the Role
The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Sr. Sales Manager to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time position focuses on proactively soliciting and managing large group and catering opportunities with significant revenue potential.
Key Responsibilities
The Sr. Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and soliciting new group and catering business to achieve revenue goals. This includes targeting specific accounts, markets, or segments with an emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation. The role involves developing effective sales plans, designing and selling creative catered events, and maximizing revenue through upselling packages and food and beverage offerings. A key aspect of the role is understanding the market, including competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, to effectively position offerings and close business opportunities. The manager will also be responsible for negotiating contracts and ensuring business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for seamless service delivery.
Customer Relationship Management
A significant part of this role involves building and strengthening relationships with existing and new customers to foster future bookings. Activities will include sales calls, entertainment, and participation in industry events. The Sr. Sales Manager will develop relationships within the community to expand the customer base for group and catering sales opportunities. Providing excellent customer service is paramount to driving customer loyalty and growing account share. This includes understanding customer needs, recommending appropriate features and services, and ensuring customer satisfaction before and during events.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
This position requires collaboration with off-property sales channels, such as the Event Booking Center (EBC) and Market Sales, to ensure coordinated sales efforts. The Sr. Sales Manager will manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, utilizing available sales resources and administrative support staff effectively.
Additional Duties
Additional responsibilities include conducting site inspections, creating contracts as required, and executing the operational aspects of booked business, such as generating proposals and managing customer correspondence. The use of internal resources, such as the company intranet, is also expected.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates are required to have 5+ years of experience in a relevant sales role, with a focus on group and catering opportunities. Experience in managing complex business with significant revenue potential and customer expectations is essential.
