About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking an Automation Senior Engineer to join our team in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role is crucial for providing technical support and ensuring the optimal performance of automated material handling equipment within our warehouses and distribution centers. The position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves complex troubleshooting and problem-solving to maintain operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modify and troubleshoot system interfaces between Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Material Flow Systems (MFS) to ensure continuous production flow.
  • Resolve operational challenges by repairing damaged components such as sensors, scanners, visualization systems, motors, frequency inverters, and encoders.
  • Identify the root cause of faults and production errors, then implement permanent solutions to assure operation continuity.
  • Analyze daily system operation reports to track performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Design and conduct maneuver testing scenarios to identify and address system issues.
  • Design and deliver training programs for all users to enhance system knowledge, resolve issues, and prevent recurrence.
  • Update the help-desk ticketing system to track, monitor, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Manage the performance of external suppliers and subcontractors to maximize business benefits.
  • Monitor automated system machine performance and generate daily reports for management visibility.
  • Represent Nahdi in an international team focused on automation practices to ensure maximum system uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) engineers to achieve 360 synergy and full operational capacity.
  • Design system manuals for use in employee induction and on-the-job training.

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical and electronic principles. This includes in-depth knowledge of motors, drivers, controllers, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and various communication protocols. The role demands proficiency in utilizing diverse technical tools for effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.

Collaboration and System Uptime

This position requires active collaboration with external software developers and internal onsite teams to ensure maximum system uptime. The Automation Senior Engineer will play a critical role in identifying and implementing improvements, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of automated systems.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Commitment to being present whenever the system requires support, including during holidays or days off.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role is primarily indoors (80%), with approximately 20% of time spent outdoors. The work schedule consists of 6 working days per week with 1 day off. Daily working hours are 8 hours, including a 1-hour break, and operate on rotating shifts.
