The Role: Cluster Paymaster

Red Sea Global Hospitality is seeking a Cluster Paymaster to lead the payroll function across multiple hotels and resorts within the Makkah region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and is responsible for ensuring that all team members are paid accurately and on time. The role involves maintaining compliance with local laws and internal standards, while also ensuring payroll processes are smooth, secure, and supportive of a people-first culture. This position combines operational detail with strategic oversight and requires collaboration across HR, Finance, and Legal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll across various international locations and employee types, including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and expatriate staff.
  • Process payroll in multiple currencies, handling hospitality-specific elements such as service charges and tip pooling.
  • Ensure correct tax deductions and statutory filings in each country, adhering to legal deadlines.
  • Handle complex situations including expat pay, gratuities, and retroactive corrections.
  • Stay informed on labor laws and payroll regulations across key regions and conduct regular compliance checks.
  • Oversee payroll software systems and integrate them with HR and timekeeping tools to drive automation and minimize errors.
  • Train on-property payroll teams in systems, standards, and best practices, and provide a self-service platform for employees.
  • Coordinate emergency backup plans to ensure uninterrupted payroll during system or external disruptions.
  • Provide data and recommendations for compensation planning and budgeting, and support company-wide reporting goals related to pay equity and sustainability.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Solid background in payroll operations, particularly within hospitality or multi-country environments.
  • Proficiency with major payroll platforms and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality-specific payroll needs.
  • Excellent data skills, including proficiency with spreadsheet and reporting tools.
  • Comfortable navigating international payroll laws and best practices.

Strategic Input and Collaboration

The Cluster Paymaster will work closely with HR and recruitment to assess payroll implications when expanding into new countries or opening new properties. This role assists with payroll integration and planning during acquisitions or property launches. It also involves providing clear, concise reporting on labor costs, overtime patterns, and payroll trends, using data to identify opportunities for cost efficiency and workforce planning.
