Job Description

About the Director of Finance Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to join its team in Makkah, serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and functions as the property's strategic financial business leader.

Strategic Financial Leadership

This role champions, develops, and implements property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand's target customers and property employees. The Director of Finance provides the financial expertise to support the successful implementation of brand service strategies and initiatives, while maximizing return on investment. This includes creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand's strategic direction, focusing on financial activities and achieving desirable financial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploration of new business opportunities.
  • Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze variances.
  • Identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities through analytical support during budget reviews.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department performance and producing accurate forecasts.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Manage communication with owners, understanding their priorities and strategic focus.
  • Advise the General Manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses, and timely submission of reports.
  • Monitor taxes, ensuring they are current, collected, and/or accrued.
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and ensure the accuracy of the Profit and Loss statement.

Team Leadership and Development

Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, advocating for sound financial and business decisions. Communicate strategic goals clearly to subordinates and leverage functional leadership to influence the executive team and property strategies. Provide leadership by assigning clear accountability and conducting annual performance appraisals with direct reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
  • OR A Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Makkah, serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves strategic financial management within a luxury hospitality environment.
