Job Description

About the General Maintenance Technician Role

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for a full-time position in Makkah, with operations spanning Jeddah and Makkah. This role is integral to maintaining the facility's operational integrity by ensuring the optimal functioning of various electrical and electronic systems. The technician will be responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle of equipment, from assembly and installation to testing and ongoing maintenance.

Core Technical Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning tools, equipment, electrical systems, apparatus, and components.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Utilize testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Test batteries in generators, emergency lighting, and similar systems.
  • Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, adhering to job specifications and current National Electric Code and local codes.
  • Read and follow blueprints and schematics.
  • Respond to repair requests and perform preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies.

Operational Standards and Collaboration

  • Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Communicate professionally and clearly, and prepare and review information accurately.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Physical Demands of the Role

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
  • License or Certification: Valid Driver’s License.
