About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Life Guard to join our team in Makkah and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of guests within the swimming and recreation areas. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

Core Responsibilities

  • Observe swimming areas diligently for dangerous conditions, unusual activities, or swimmers in distress.
  • Utilize appropriate rescue techniques to assist swimmers requiring help.
  • Provide immediate assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
  • Promote and enforce the rules and regulations of the recreation facility to ensure guest safety.
  • Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisors or managers accordingly.

Operational Duties and Guest Service

  • Obtain, fold, and stack towels in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including washing, mopping, and maintaining the pool deck.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management promptly.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests, ensuring a professional and respectful interaction.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests while maintaining safety standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify any defects.
  • Move at a speed required to respond to work situations, including running, walking, or jogging.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and objects in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Navigate over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 0-1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • No supervisory experience is necessary for this role.
