About the National Sales Manager Role

Americana Foods is seeking a National Sales Manager for Wholesale and Discounter channels to lead trade sales and deliver sustained competitive advantage at the point of purchase. This full-time position, based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah cities, requires a leader capable of developing and implementing strategies to achieve company objectives.

Strategic Leadership and Team Development

The National Wholesale Manager will be responsible for leading resources to develop effective strategies and action plans. This includes motivating, leading, and training trade channel team members to enhance their skills for various assignments. The role also involves providing essential support to supervisors to ensure the successful implementation of monthly initiatives according to the established roadmap. Frequent field work with Wholesale sales representatives at customer locations, including head offices for purchasing and management, is a key component of this position.

Operational Responsibilities and Market Execution

Key operational duties include rebuilding credibility for AMC Cake & Canned products within the trade by strengthening relationships in the KSA Wholesale market and identifying new customers. The manager will implement Americana's strategy in the Wholesale market, covering pricing, marketing, distribution, and Business Development Agreements (BDAs). Responsibilities extend to defining wholesale planogram guidelines, ensuring wholesale accounts meet their objectives and targets, and communicating revamped BDAs and portfolio details. The role also involves defining trading terms (cash, credit) in line with commercial planning and management guidelines, and overseeing sales and collections through the Wholesale distribution team.

Performance Monitoring and Business Enhancement

This position requires tracking and monitoring sales team performance against KPIs, including sales and collection targets. The manager will ensure brand objectives related to availability, visibility, volume, and margin are met for set categories. Assessing business performance of AMC Cake and competitors within the wholesale channel is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of trade programs. Proposing goals and KPIs for strategic wholesalers and tracking ongoing results are also key functions. The role includes actively contributing to corporate and brand advocacy, and potentially training customers on AMC categories with necessary materials and instructions.

Channel Management and Development

Monitoring brand performance among wholesalers, both for AMC and competitors, is essential. Maintaining healthy stock cover days within the trade and coaching the Wholesale team on category opportunities and growth are critical. The manager will recruit and manage sub-distributors, overseeing their distribution, stock cover days, and collections. Regular market visits across the Kingdom, conducted daily and weekly, are required to engage with key Wholesale customers.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Operations Management, or a related field. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in an FMCG company, with at least 3 years in a similar managerial position.
