WSP in the Middle East is a leading professional services consulting firm. We are currently seeking a Road & Civil Inspector to join our team in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience in road and civil infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

The Road & Civil Inspector will play a crucial role in supporting the supervision team by monitoring and inspecting construction activities. This position focuses on ensuring that all works related to roads, drainage, and storm water infrastructure comply with project specifications, approved drawings, established quality standards, and essential Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor daily construction activities for roads, storm water networks, and associated civil works.
• Ensure contractor works are executed in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Conduct thorough site inspections covering earthworks, subgrade, asphalt works, concrete works, pipelines, manholes, culverts, and drainage structures.
• Verify materials delivered to the site, ensuring full compliance with approved material submittals.
• Review and witness testing activities, including compaction tests, concrete testing, asphalt testing, and other Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.
• Generate inspection reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and actively follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor’s progress and report any observed delays or quality issues directly to the Resident Engineer.
• Ensure consistent adherence to HSE standards and project safety procedures on site.
• Coordinate effectively with contractor representatives, surveyors, and laboratory teams during inspection processes.
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, and comprehensive photographic documentation.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in the supervision and inspection of road and civil infrastructure projects. A strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality standards, and safety regulations pertinent to civil works is essential.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time role based in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The inspector will primarily work on site, collaborating with various project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
