The Opportunity

AECOM is seeking a Senior Engineer to join its team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading and managing moderately complex projects, ensuring successful delivery from inception through closeout. The position requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more moderately complex projects, which may involve regional clients, multiple services, or specific complexities such as litigation or environmental protection.
  • Oversee all project phases from inception to closeout, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Work independently on assignments, receiving guidance on complex problems and supervisory approval for project plans.
  • Supervise senior-level engineers across various disciplines, as well as project administration, controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives.
  • Provide mentoring and professional development guidance to junior and mid-level engineering staff.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and technical audits to ensure compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements specific to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Manage client relationships and stakeholder communications, providing updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Oversee budget allocation, resource planning, and cost control to optimize project profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Identify, assess, and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and technical challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable KSA regulations, environmental protection standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, reports, and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization to enhance project delivery methodologies and team performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in engineering and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements, particularly within Saudi Arabia.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. All newly hired employees at AECOM are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding session at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
