About the Role

Salla is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team in Makkah, Makkah Province. This full-time position focuses on enhancing platform reliability, performance, and scalability through proactive engineering and incident management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to improve system reliability and performance.
• Manage and respond to high-severity incidents, conducting post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, infrastructure, and network layers.
• Reduce Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR) by enhancing monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic tools.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scaling challenges.
• Conduct load testing and capacity planning for high-traffic scenarios.
• Enhance cloud-native infrastructure, deployment processes, and automation.
• Improve system resilience, fault-tolerance, and recovery mechanisms.
• Develop and refine dashboards, alerts, metrics, logs, and traces for improved observability.
• Define Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to increase visibility into system behavior.
• Develop tools to reduce operational toil and increase overall reliability.
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure services are robust and production-ready.
• Mentor engineers on reliability, debugging, and operational best practices.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to support production systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong experience with Kubernetes, service mesh technologies, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Deep understanding of Linux, networking, distributed systems, and load balancing.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Elastic, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps practices.
• Strong debugging, incident response, and performance analysis skills.

Preferred Background

• Background in large-scale, high-traffic systems.
• Experience with fault-tolerant design, Disaster Recovery (DR), and High Availability (HA) patterns.
• Familiarity with SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Makkah Province. Candidates located within GMT 0 to +6 time zones are preferred to facilitate team collaboration and on-call coverage.
