About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant, Colorectal Surgery to join its medical team. This full-time position involves providing specialized medical care and treatment in the field of Colorectal Surgery, adhering to established hospital policies and medical staff bylaws.

Role Summary

The Consultant, Colorectal Surgery is responsible for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions within their specialty. This includes delivering high-quality patient care in all aspects of General Colorectal Surgery, in line with the standards set by King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and the approved clinical privileges.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide required patient care and management in Colorectal Surgery, ensuring adherence to KFSH&RC medical care standards.
  • Offer consultation services for inpatients and emergency room cases upon request, responding promptly within hospital policy timeframes.
  • Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and eligibility of medical records.
  • Deliver on-call service, maintaining availability and response times as prescribed by hospital policy.
  • Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior.
  • Perform other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.

Education and Professional Development

  • Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
  • Actively participate in the departmentโ€™s educational activities and training programs.
  • Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
  • Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of the required period of training in a specialty and/or subspecialty.
  • Possession of Arab or American Board certification, membership, and/or fellowship status in the United Kingdom and/or Canada, or their equivalent.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of training in a specialty or subspecialty, with postgraduate training experience equaling or exceeding seven (7) years in the subspecialty.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The successful candidate will operate within their approved clinical privileges and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, contributing to a high standard of patient care.
