The Role of Consumer Product Manager

The Consumer Product Manager is responsible for the daily customer experience on the Soum platform. This includes managing how buyers discover, evaluate, pay for, and receive used phones or cars, as well as how sellers list, price, and get paid for their items. The role involves advocating for the Soum customer within the product team, translating consumer insights into features that enhance conversion, repeat purchases, and overall trust in the platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the roadmap for a core consumer area, such as the buyer journey, seller journey, or subscriptions, prioritizing based on impact on conversion, retention, GMV, and customer trust.
• Develop a continuous understanding of Soum's customers through user interviews, usability testing, app reviews, customer support tickets, and behavioral data.
• Optimize the end-to-end marketplace funnel, including listing creation, search and discovery, product pages, checkout and payments (Mada, Apple Pay, BNPL), delivery tracking, returns, and post-purchase experience.
• Design and improve trust features to enhance safety in buying used items, such as device condition grading, car inspection reports, verified sellers, buyer protection, ratings, and transparent pricing.
• Shape subscription products for electronics and cars, focusing on value proposition, packaging, onboarding, engagement, and retention, in collaboration with Commercial and Finance teams on unit economics.
• Translate problems into clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria, and manage agile delivery with design and engineering from discovery through release and iteration.
• Champion an Arabic-first, bilingual experience with high-quality Right-to-Left (RTL) design and localization for Saudi customers.
• Implement a disciplined experimentation practice, including forming hypotheses, designing A/B tests, defining success metrics, and making evidence-based decisions on scaling or discontinuing features.
• Monitor and report on core consumer KPIs, such as conversion rate, listing-to-sale rate, activation, repeat purchase, subscription retention, NPS, and customer complaints.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations (inspection, logistics, customer service), Marketing and Growth (acquisition, CRM), and Finance to ensure product changes are effective end-to-end.
• Monitor regional and global marketplaces and recommerce players to identify and adapt best practices for Soum's customers.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time Consumer Product Manager position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role requires a professional who can work across app and web platforms, collaborating with design, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to deliver and iterate on products efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with consumers in Saudi Arabia (KSA) or the GCC region.
• Familiarity with Arabic/RTL products and local payment methods.
• Background in used goods, recommerce, automotive, or subscription businesses.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Consumer Product Manager will work collaboratively with various internal teams, including design, engineering, operations, and commercial departments, to achieve product goals.
