About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Curriculum Specialist to join its team. This full-time role is central to the academic success of the PhD Biomedical Sciences programs, focusing on the comprehensive design, development, implementation, coordination, and continuous review of the academic curriculum. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Curriculum Design and Development

The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for the core elements of academic program structure and content. Key duties include:

• Working on curriculum planning, structuring, development, and management for the PhD Biomedical Sciences programs.
• Assisting in formulating and periodically updating course descriptions, syllabi, learning outcomes, and graduate study guides.
• Coordinating curriculum mapping to ensure alignment of learning outcomes, teaching methods, and assessment tasks across all PhD coursework.
• Leading curriculum review cycles and preparing documentation required for accreditation submissions (NCAAA, WFME, or equivalent bodies).
• Managing and updating the PhD program handbook and all academic policy documents related to the curriculum.

Program Coordination and Support

This role involves significant coordination and logistical support to ensure smooth program delivery and assessment. Responsibilities include:

• Communicating and coordinating with course instructors, module leads, and thesis supervisors to ensure coherent course delivery.
• Organizing and scheduling lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions, and research skills workshops delivered throughout each academic term.
• Uploading and maintaining all learning materials on the LMS (Moodle or equivalent), and supporting the development of web-based and blended learning resources.
• Coordinating the availability of research laboratories, facilities, and specialized equipment required to support the academic program.
• Assisting in the preparation and logistics of qualifying examinations and other PhD milestone assessments, including scheduling, coordination with examiners, and records management.

Academic Administration and Compliance

The specialist also contributes to the administrative functions and adherence to institutional standards.

• Participating in Curriculum Committee meetings and providing secretariat support, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up on action items.
• Following all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
• Participating in self and others' education, training, and development, as applicable.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Curriculum Specialist position must possess 2-5 years of experience in a related field, demonstrating a solid understanding of academic curriculum management and development within a higher education or research institution context.
