We at Datamatics Technologies are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in the classic data stack, particularly SQL Server and SSIS. This role is fundamental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, robust data models, and data marts.

Job Summary
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in developing a structured semantic layer that ensures high-quality, consistent, and accessible data to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Modeling: Design and maintain scalable and high-performance data models, develop data marts aligned with business requirements, and apply best practices in data warehousing.
  • Semantic Layer Development: Build and maintain a semantic layer with clear definitions, hierarchies, and data structures.
  • Data Pipeline Development (ETL): Develop and manage ETL pipelines using SSIS and SQL Server, ensuring reliability and availability of data across systems.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data from source systems.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business teams, analysts, and data scientists translating business requirements into scalable data solutions.
  • Documentation & Standards: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, ETL processes, and workflows.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Technical Skills & Requirements
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and expertise in SSIS.
  • Proficiency in stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
  • ETL design and development expertise.
  • Performance tuning (query optimization and staging) experience.
  • Debugging and optimizing ETL workflows.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in data engineering and data warehousing.
