About the Delivery Director Role
Jones Lang LaSalle IP, Inc. is seeking an experienced Delivery Director to lead the successful execution of large-scale construction projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, senior leadership position requires a proven ability to manage complex structural and infrastructure projects, strong commercial understanding, and the capacity to lead multi-disciplinary teams in a demanding, fast-paced environment. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.
Project Delivery and Execution
The Delivery Director will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of major construction projects, from mobilization through to handover. This includes ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. The role involves overseeing multiple project streams concurrently, managing portfolios valued at SAR 500M+ with full Profit & Loss accountability. Establishing and maintaining robust project governance frameworks, controls, and reporting mechanisms are key to ensuring visibility and proactive risk management.
Leadership and Team Management
This position requires building, mentoring, and leading high-performing project teams, including project managers, engineers, and site leadership across various locations. Fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, while upholding strong health, safety, and environmental standards, is essential. The role also involves developing talent pipelines and succession planning to ensure organizational capability and continuity.
Stakeholder and Client Engagement
The Delivery Director will serve as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, maintaining strategic relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Navigating complex stakeholder environments, including government entities, consultants, contractors, and joint venture partners, is a critical aspect of the role. Responsibilities also include leading contract negotiations, managing variations, and resolving disputes effectively to safeguard project outcomes and commercial interests.
Strategic Planning and Commercial Performance
Developing and implementing delivery strategies that align with business objectives and maximize profitability is a core function. The role involves identifying opportunities for value engineering, cost optimization, and programme acceleration without compromising quality. Strategic input will be provided to pursuit and tendering activities, including risk assessment, delivery methodology, and resource planning.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contracts (FIDIC, NEC, JCT), and quality management systems.
- Minimum of 15 years in construction project delivery, with at least 8 years in senior leadership roles managing mega-projects (SAR 500M+).
- Demonstrated success delivering major structural projects, such as high-rise towers, mixed-use developments, stadiums, hospitals, or institutional buildings.
- Proven experience working in Saudi Arabia with a deep understanding of local construction market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and business practices.
- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to influence and inspire teams in challenging environments.
- Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen and a business development orientation.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining senior-level client relationships and navigating complex organizational structures.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels and cultural contexts.
