About the Role

Foreground is seeking a Director AI Strategy & Portfolio to establish and lead a central AI Strategy function. This role is responsible for ensuring that Artificial Intelligence investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable value across multiple operating companies. The position is based in Riyadh and is a full-time engagement.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, the Director of AI Strategy & Portfolio will be instrumental in developing and executing the Group’s overarching AI strategy. This includes overseeing the enterprise portfolio of AI initiatives and ensuring their strategic alignment. The role requires close collaboration with business leaders to identify strategic opportunities, assess business cases, and prioritize AI investments. The Director will also establish implementation roadmaps across the Group’s diverse sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the AI project portfolio, ensuring it reflects strategic objectives.
• Measure the business impact of AI initiatives and monitor delivery against strategic goals.
• Ensure resources are allocated to initiatives with the highest potential return on investment.
• Establish AI governance frameworks and executive reporting mechanisms.
• Develop investment evaluation criteria and portfolio performance dashboards to support executive decision-making.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should possess extensive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, enterprise transformation, digital strategy, or AI program leadership. A strong analytical capability, financial acumen, and proven portfolio management experience are essential. The ability to engage effectively with senior executives across multiple business sectors is also a key requirement. Experience within diversified organizations, consulting firms, or large enterprise transformation programs will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time role based in Riyadh. The central AI Strategy function is being created to ensure that AI investments are strategically aligned and generate tangible value across the organization's various operating companies.
