Director of Finance, Pre-Opening Ritz-Carlton Diriyah

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, * is seeking a Director of Finance for the pre-opening phase of The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Ad Dir'iyah, Saudi Arabia, and requires a finance leader to join the Executive Committee. The Ritz-Carlton Diriyah is situated within the historic landscape of Diriyah and aims to be a luxury hospitality destination.

Role Overview

The Director of Finance serves as the property’s strategic financial business leader, advising the General Manager and ownership group. This role oversees all financial and accounting functions to ensure strong financial performance while supporting the brand’s commitment to guest experiences and operational excellence. Beyond financial stewardship, the Director of Finance contributes to business strategy, identifies growth opportunities, drives profitability, and ensures sound governance across operations. The position involves insightful analysis, planning, and leadership to guide the property towards sustainable success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the hotel’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with property, ownership, and brand objectives.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business analysis to maximize profitability and return on investment.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the General Manager and Executive Committee on financial opportunities, risks, and performance trends.
  • Oversee all accounting, reporting, audit, compliance, tax, and control processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and integrity.
  • Manage working capital, cash flow, and financial resources in line with owner expectations and Marriott standards.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives while maintaining the luxury service standards of The Ritz-Carlton.
  • Develop, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance team through coaching, succession planning, and professional development.
  • Build relationships with ownership representatives, corporate stakeholders, and operational leaders to support informed decision-making and long-term growth.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of proven experience in finance leadership within luxury hospitality, hotels, resorts, or complex service-driven environments.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into business insights and operational actions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, asset management, and profitability enhancement.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders, ownership groups, and cross-functional teams.
  • A leadership style that encourages accountability, development, transparency, and high performance.
  • An understanding of luxury hospitality and how financial strategy supports guest experiences.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are viewed favorably.
