About the Role

Catrion Group is seeking a Head Chef to support the Sr. Director of Menu Planning and the Executive Chef of Riyadh Air in all aspects of menu development. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and focuses on enhancing sales performance through strategic menu planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

The Head Chef will be instrumental in managing menus for Riyadh Air, contributing to customer complaint handling, and assisting with monthly invoice reviews in coordination with the finance department. This role involves conducting market research on trending dishes and products, and developing new and innovative packaging to improve product presentation and drive sales. A significant part of the role includes developing crew menus according to customer requirements, streamlining raw materials to reduce waste and improve forecasting, and conducting menu presentations with the Sales department. The Head Chef will also be responsible for writing recipes and procedures for new or reformulated products, and collaborating with the team to ensure the successful launch and improvement of new products, cost reduction, and specification changes.

Project Management and Reporting

This position requires meticulous documentation of all work according to established procedures and guidelines. The Head Chef will prepare or assist in preparing various project reports for the Sr. Director of Menu Planning and the Executive Chef, Riyadh Air, ensuring clear communication of project status, progress, issues, solutions, timelines, and accountability. Additionally, the role supports the Executive Chef in compiling statistics and figures for customer reporting, preparing the annual turnover budget, and assisting in the business plan and budget write-up for Riyadh Air. Ensuring operating expenses remain within budget limits is also a key responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess culinary qualifications and a Bachelor's Degree. The role requires 5-10 years of overall experience, with 4-5 years of specialized experience in menu modification or creation that meets quality standards. A working knowledge of various computer software programs, including MS Office, is essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are necessary, along with the ability to present effectively and respond to customers and staff members. The candidate must be capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business reports, demonstrating extreme attention to detail, and possessing the ability to plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities, including delegating multiple tasks.

Role Context

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The Head Chef will work closely with senior leadership to drive menu innovation and operational efficiency for Riyadh Air. The role involves a blend of creative menu development, strategic planning, and hands-on operational support.

Additional Support

The Head Chef is expected to assume additional tasks related to the department as needed, in support of the Sr. Director of Menu Planning and the Executive Chef, Riyadh Air, ensuring comprehensive departmental support and contribution to overall objectives.
