About the Role

MUFG, a globally recognized financial institution, is seeking a Head of Compliance - Vice President for its Riyadh branch. This position is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the compliance framework within the branch, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role involves close collaboration with senior management and global compliance teams to maintain regulatory excellence and support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the identification, assessment, and mitigation of compliance risks across the bank's operations in line with SAMA regulations and internal policies.
• Develop, implement, and update compliance programs to align with legal requirements, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, including SAMA, managing examinations and responding to inquiries.
• Lead anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) initiatives, including transaction monitoring, suspicious activity investigation, and reporting.
• Draft new compliance policies and procedures and review existing documentation for ongoing alignment with evolving laws.
• Deliver compliance training programs to staff at all levels, addressing emerging issues and regulatory updates.
• Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior management and committees, covering risk assessments, violations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with global compliance teams on cross-border projects, ensuring local implementation of global initiatives.
• Support the recruitment, training, performance management, and professional development of the compliance team.
• Represent MUFG at external industry events and build networks with peer institutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking compliance functions within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• In-depth knowledge of SAMA regulatory frameworks and practical experience with local banking laws and international standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing AML controls, including transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, and record maintenance.
• Proven ability to draft comprehensive policies and review legal or marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
• Experience in leading and developing teams, including setting objectives, performance management, and mentoring.
