About the International Valuation Standards Council

The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) is the global body responsible for developing and setting international valuation standards. The organization operates as a not-for-profit entity in the public interest, bringing together key leaders from professional valuation organizations, major businesses, academic institutions, government departments, investors, investment banks, and regulators worldwide. With a headquarters in London and regional offices in Singapore and Riyadh, the IVSC has a broad international reach, supported by over 240 member and sponsor organizations.

Role Overview: Middle East and Africa Communications Officer

In alignment with the KSA Nitaqat approach, the IVSC is seeking to recruit a Saudi National for the position of Middle East and Africa (MEA) Communications Officer. This full-time role will be based in Riyadh and will report to the IVSC MEA Director. The primary focus of this position is to support the IVSC's outreach strategy within the Middle East and Africa region, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the IVSC's stakeholder outreach strategy in the Middle East and Africa, engaging with regulators, valuation professional organizations, preparers and users of valuations (including investors, banks, accountants, and academic institutions).
  • Attract new members and sponsors by generating, contacting, and following up on leads.
  • Collaborate closely with the global Director of Communications to manage and ensure effective, coordinated execution of all external communications activities, including web, email, social media, advertising campaigns, and events.
  • Facilitate worldwide internal communications within the organization, including staff, board members, and volunteers.
  • Organize, market, and host physical events and webinars in partnership with other organizations.
  • Conduct market research to assess the viability of potential future proposals and opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree (Bachelor's or above).
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic language skills.
  • Strong public speaking abilities.
  • Familiarity with valuation, accounting, and finance is preferred but not essential.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • An interest in working for the public good.
  • An entrepreneurial skillset with a willingness to take initiative to help grow and develop the IVSC across the Middle East and Africa region.
  • Consultative and strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interface effectively with all internal and external stakeholders and disseminate information effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in common business applications, including Microsoft suite (essential). Proficiency in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva is highly sought after.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
  • A team player capable of operating effectively within a group.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, primarily within the Middle East and Africa.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role offers the potential to earn a performance-related bonus.
