About the Role
McKinsey & Company is seeking a Knowledge Analyst specializing in the Chemicals sector to join its Saudi Client Capabilities Hub in Riyadh. This role is designed to contribute to delivering lasting impact and building long-term capabilities for clients within the Chemicals industry. Role Responsibilities
As a Knowledge Analyst, you will provide content expertise across critical areas such as maintenance, reliability, and operations functions for chemical clients. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients in building robust capabilities in delivery and execution, ensuring that recommendations are implemented and sustained. This involves collaborating with client teams to develop necessary systems and processes, and maintaining genuine expertise in the Chemicals sector to serve multiple clients across the EEMA region. You will be part of the global Client Capabilities Network, contributing to client impact through specialized assets and expertise.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Deliver content expertise on topics including maintenance, reliability, and operations functions for chemical clients.
- Support clients in building delivery and execution capabilities, both during active projects and post-recommendation phases.
- Work within teams to build and sustain the capabilities, systems, and processes required for delivering results.
- Maintain and develop genuine expertise in the Chemicals sector across various client engagements.
- Undertake responsibilities across all phases of client development work, from initial business development and delivery to client relationship management.
- Collaborate closely with clients and drive analyses to provide unique insights.
- Support the development and maintenance of proprietary knowledge capabilities in conjunction with other experts within local and global practices.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical, or petroleum engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the petrochemical sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the petrochemical industry market, including downstream chemicals.
- Experience in chemical process engineering, operational improvement, project management, or strategic decision-making within the petrochemical industry is considered a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working with numbers and quantitative models.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Capacity to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
Required Competencies
- Expertise in the Chemicals sector, specifically in maintenance, reliability, and operations functions.
- Proficiency in delivery and execution, and in building capabilities, systems, and processes.
- Skills in business development and client relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a conceptual mindset.
- Solid business acumen, including an understanding of business, economic, and financial concepts and terminology.
- Proficiency in multitasking and a service-oriented approach.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Fluency in Arabic is preferred.
