Legal Advisor

About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking a Legal Advisor to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position is for an experienced professional capable of working with general direction, focusing on developing solutions to legal challenges and addressing issues escalated from junior levels. The role involves complex operational activities, including the collection, consolidation, prioritization, and analysis of requests, as well as the development and delivery of legal studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, processes, and practices, considering leading practices and productivity enhancement.
• Develop methodologies, working guidelines, templates, and processes for legal inquiry research and advisory services across all ZATCA functions.
• Receive and evaluate requests for legal advice, classifying them based on urgency and relevance.
• Manage the continuous update of legal advisory database systems related to legal inquiries and support, ensuring request logs are current.
• Assist in the development and delivery of relevant legal studies and provide non-tax, zakat, and customs legal opinions on inquiries from various sectors and divisions.
• Provide legal advice for simple inquiries, clarifying ambiguities and offering solutions and recommendations.

Operational Duties

• Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and controlled work execution.
• Assist in resolving escalated problems and provide necessary support to junior team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Escalate complex problems to the appropriate personnel to ensure proper resolution of cases and issues.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or an equivalent qualification is required.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of overall experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, within the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority. The role involves working on the development and delivery of legal studies to provide legal opinions in accordance with inquiry specifications and established plans.
