About the Role

Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Company is seeking a Manager Contracts & Claims to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to supporting project teams by ensuring adherence to contractual requirements, proactively identifying risks, and assisting Project Managers and Project Directors in preparing claims and managing contractual correspondences. The role is critical in maintaining contractual integrity and mitigating potential disputes across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review various contractual documents as directed by and under the supervision of the Director, Commercial Contracts (DCC).
  • Assist Project Managers, Project Directors, and the DCC in the negotiation of variations with clients’ agents.
  • Review Variation Orders (VOs) received from clients, highlight any risks in their terms, and propose required amendments.
  • Validate VOs issued by the Commercial team to subcontractors.
  • Assist Commercial teams at sites in dealing with major Subcontract Agreements and vendors’ claims.
  • Support the preparation of correspondences to clients, including Claim Notices and Claim Particulars, in coordination with the Project Planner for Extension of Time (EoT) claims.
  • Organize and monitor tracking logs issued by site teams, ensuring dispatch to all concerned parties.
  • Organize and monitor the Project risk register and oversee mitigation efforts by the site team.
  • Implement Contract Management procedures, workflows, and practices to improve business processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
  • Assist in monitoring projects’ performance with respect to compliance with the Contractor’s rights and obligations.
  • Prepare a Monthly Dashboard for Variations, Claims, and Disputes/Recommendations.
  • Coordinate and attend Commercial/Contracts meetings with client agents and internal site teams.
  • Advise on project handover and closeout, and assist in obtaining Taking Over Performance Certificates.

Operational Standards and Compliance

The Manager Contracts & Claims is responsible for adhering to organizational policies and procedures to ensure full compliance and maintain a productive work environment. This includes implementing and upholding safety and security protocols to protect the well-being of all employees and company assets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in contracts and claims management, preferably within the construction or investment sector.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contractual documents, risk management principles, and claims processes.
  • Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication and documentation in this role.
