About the Marketplace/Retail Team Lead Role

PepsiCo is seeking a Marketplace/Retail Team Lead to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual with 5-10 years of experience to drive sales performance and ensure operational excellence within the retail environment.

Role Overview and Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the achievement of all short-term and long-term sales targets for the designated area or location. This involves supervising field sales teams, optimizing sales productivity, and implementing company strategies to meet and exceed volume and fundamental sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide sales representatives and stockists to ensure compliance with execution standards and achievement of targets.
  • Lead and develop the sales team to enhance productivity and performance.
  • Implement company plans to achieve and exceed sales fundamentals and volume targets.
  • Analyze business performance by updating databases and developing future action plans based on data.
  • Conduct volume forecasting for assigned areas and channels.
  • Collaborate with stockists to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure field sales teams meet objectives related to execution, revenue, market share, and people development.
  • Organize, control, and motivate sales representatives to meet targets using established sales standards.
  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor market changes and communicate relevant information for decision-making.
  • Ensure understanding and implementation of promotional plans across all routes.
  • Manage administrative tasks for the location, including stock, returns, and invoicing.
  • Select, train, develop, and follow up on sales personnel to meet current and future departmental needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Ownership on Route (OOR) through follow-up and coaching.
  • Manage field performance, including route optimization, point-of-purchase materials, and sales representative performance reports.
  • Develop strong relationships with stockists and key wholesale customers.
  • Ensure proper execution of new product initiatives, merchandising, and operational priorities.
  • Drive key field sales KPIs, including distribution, placement, and promotion execution.
  • Oversee administrative and control processes within the field, ensuring effective monitoring and compliance with procedures.
  • Report competitive activities to management.
  • Ensure compliance with control agendas and responsibilities, including periodic review of sales documents and sales order accuracy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-6 years of sales field experience in the FMCG sector.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages.
  • No travel restrictions.
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's degree.
