About the Mechanical Site Engineer Role

Qureos is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves the supervision, coordination, and execution of all mechanical works on project sites, ensuring adherence to approved designs, specifications, and industry standards. The role requires a proactive approach to managing site activities and ensuring the successful completion of mechanical installations, testing, and commissioning.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, and piping. This involves ensuring all work is performed according to approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications. The role requires close coordination with subcontractors and other disciplines (electrical, civil) to prevent clashes and ensure seamless project execution. A key aspect of the role is maintaining quality control, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and reporting on progress and any non-conformities.

  • Supervise the installation of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with approved drawings and project specifications.
  • Monitor daily site activities and track progress against project timelines.
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of subcontractors.
  • Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Verify material quantities and ensure correct materials are used on site.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to standards.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and civil works to avoid conflicts.
  • Assist in the testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety rules and HSE procedures.
  • Implement quality control procedures and inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Identify and report non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Ensure installations meet industry standards (*, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA).
  • Attend site meetings with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of mechanical items.
  • Communicate technical issues or delays to the project manager.
  • Prepare daily and weekly site progress reports.
  • Maintain records of inspections, tests, and mechanical activities.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and O&M documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation of commissioning results.
  • Support BIM coordination for site execution alignment.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Diploma in Mechanical Technology or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical site execution, covering areas such as HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, or MEP, is required.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong knowledge of mechanical systems and installation techniques, including mechanical calculations for duct and pipe sizing. Familiarity with commissioning procedures and proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and MS Office are essential. A thorough understanding of relevant international codes (*, IEC, NEC, BS, local regulations) and standards is necessary. The role demands good communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team are also critical. Fluency in both Arabic and English is required.

Work Environment

This position is site-based in Riyadh. Occasional international travel may be required.
