About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a Manager for In-Room Dining to oversee daily operations in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and is responsible for leading the Room Service team and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction while managing operational budgets.

Managing Daily Room Service Operations

This role involves supervising and managing employees to ensure the smooth execution of all day-to-day operations within Room Service. The Manager will ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, communicate areas needing attention to staff, and follow up to ensure adherence. Key responsibilities include supervising daily shift operations, ensuring compliance with all Room Service policies, standards, and procedures, and supervising staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives. The ability to perform employee duties in their absence is also expected.

Leading the Room Service Team

The Manager will lead, influence, and encourage the Room Service team by utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills. This includes advocating for sound financial and business decisions, demonstrating honesty and integrity, and leading by example. Building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members is essential. The role involves providing guidance and direction, setting performance standards, monitoring performance, and ensuring employee productivity levels are maintained. The Manager will also develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and accomplish work, celebrate successes, and publicly recognize team contributions. Regular, ongoing communication with employees regarding business objectives, expectations, and performance is crucial. Establishing and maintaining open, collaborative relationships with employees and observing service behaviors to provide feedback are also key duties.

Financial and Budgetary Oversight

The Manager will be involved in the financial management of the department. This includes comprehending budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed. Participation in managing the department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals is a core responsibility.

Ensuring Exceptional Guest Service

A primary focus of this role is to provide services that exceed guest expectations to ensure satisfaction and retention. This involves improving service by communicating guest needs to staff, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching. The Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring quality standards are met and customer expectations are consistently fulfilled. Emphasis will be placed on guest satisfaction during departmental meetings, with a focus on continuous improvement. Employees will be empowered to provide excellent customer service. Interaction with guests, both in person and via phone, to obtain feedback on product quality, service levels, and overall satisfaction is expected. The Manager will also handle guest problems and complaints and participate in the employee performance appraisal process.

Human Resources and Development

This position involves identifying the developmental and educational needs of others, providing coaching, mentoring, and training to improve knowledge and skills. The Manager will support a departmental orientation program for new hires and train staff while monitoring adherence to cash handling and credit policies. Soliciting employee feedback and utilizing an "open door" policy are important for addressing employee concerns.
