Job Description
About the Role
Pico Play is seeking a Project Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional to plan, coordinate, supervise, and control site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within quality standards, and in line with the approved construction program. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed short-term and look-ahead plans that align with the overall project schedule.
- Plan and sequence daily activities, allocating workers and supervisors effectively.
- Conduct daily morning briefings and toolbox talks before work commences.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring activities remain on schedule.
- Report any delays, deviations, or risks to the Project Manager/Director promptly.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries with procurement to ensure timely availability.
- Escalate any procurement or delivery delays to senior management without delay.
Project Coordination and Management
- Coordinate with main contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Attend and lead daily site meetings with quality and site teams to review ongoing and upcoming works.
- Ensure all necessary clearances and handovers are obtained before commencing work.
- Issue required handovers and clearances to relevant parties upon completion of works.
Quality Assurance and Control
- Plan, execute, and record all Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) according to project requirements and the program of works.
- Collaborate closely with the QA/QC team to ensure timely completion of inspections and documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date inspection logs and quality records.
- Ensure no activity commences without approved documentation and inspection clearance.
Resource and HSE Management
- Manage material storage, site logistics, and deliveries.
- Monitor manpower allocation and review manpower histograms to ensure adequate resource deployment.
- Track daily labor and subcontractor productivity.
- Ensure all site activities comply with approved HSE procedures.
- Verify that all access equipment is safe and operated by trained and licensed personnel.
- Report accidents, incidents, or unsafe practices immediately.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant discipline).
- Minimum of 4 years of site experience in construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, QA/QC procedures, and HSE standards.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in project documentation systems (*, Aconex, Procore).
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
