Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

About the Role

Xebia is seeking a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The role involves managing the end-to-end testing process for banking applications, covering both mobile and service layers, from initial test planning to automation development.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and clarify acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test plans, test strategies, and detailed test cases.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, and UAT test cycles.
• Log and prioritize defects in Jira, managing their lifecycle through to closure.
• Maintain traceable test cases in a test management tool (*, Zephyr Scale) and report execution results.
• Run tests across multiple devices and OS versions on real-device platforms using cloud device farms.
• Participate actively in the Agile process (refinement, planning, retrospectives) and collaborate with the development team.
• Develop and maintain API automation suites.
• Build service tests with Postman/Newman and integrate collections into the automation framework.
• Develop Android/iOS mobile automation scenarios using Appium.
• Integrate regression and smoke suites into the CI/CD pipeline.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in software testing execution and management.
• Hands-on experience with Jira for defect and task tracking.
• Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr Scale, Xray, or TestRail.
• Experience executing tests on BrowserStack or similar device farm platforms.
• Experience building automation frameworks in Java.
• Hands-on API automation experience.
• Working knowledge of Postman for service testing and collection management.
• Proven Appium mobile automation background.
• Proficiency with TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and Git.
• Solid understanding of REST/JSON, HTTP, and token-based authentication.
• Experience integrating tests with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Basic SQL for data validation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Banking/fintech domain experience.
• Framework design using Page Object Model, BDD (Cucumber), or similar approaches.
• Awareness of performance testing (*, JMeter/Gatling) or security testing.
• ISTQB Foundation / Advanced certification.
