About the Retail Manager Role

Chalhoub Group, a prominent luxury retailer in the Middle East for over seventy years, is seeking a Retail Manager to oversee operations in Riyadh. This role is responsible for maximizing the commercial performance of retail shops and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The Retail Manager acts as a key liaison between back-office functions and a network of stores, conducting continuous audits and implementing corrective actions to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Store Directors/Managers achieve optimal commercial performance and deliver superior guest experiences.
  • Establish and maintain a strong connection between the back office and the retail network.
  • Conduct regular audits of store operations and implement necessary corrective solutions.
  • Cascade brand strategy effectively throughout the assigned retail network.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to ensure full implementation of marketing and Customer Experience (CX) strategies.
  • Implement brand guidelines, adapting them to specific market requirements.
  • Develop and agree on an annual sales calendar with the commercial team.
  • Control discounts and margins to ensure consistent business profitability.
  • Monitor sales figures per product line and current stock levels (Sell-Out).
  • Manage potential stock shortages and reverse orders, and communicate status to the merchandising team.
  • Record, monitor, and analyze market trends and competitor activities.
  • Prepare quantitative and qualitative reports for the commercial team using market study data and internal systems.
  • Define sales targets for each sales team member.
  • Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement for the brand.
  • Monitor brand performance and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Manage organizational resources within budget constraints.
  • Provide timely, thorough, and accurate financial information to management.
  • Coach team members to ensure knowledge transfer and foster a positive work environment.
  • Monitor team performance and provide formal and informal feedback and appraisals to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in retail management. A strong understanding of brand strategy, commercial operations, and financial management, including P&L responsibility, is essential. Experience in implementing marketing and CX strategies, along with the ability to analyze market trends and competitor activities, is required.
