About the Security Assurance Solutions Architect Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Assurance Services is seeking a Security Assurance Solutions Architect to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on helping enterprise customers operationalize the shared responsibility model as they migrate to the cloud, addressing their governance, risk, and compliance challenges. The position involves working at the intersection of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and compliance to enable customers to securely operate their businesses on AWS and achieve their compliance objectives.

Role Context and Responsibilities

The AWS Security Assurance Services team supports customers in their cloud migration journeys by providing expertise in security assurance and compliance. As a Security Assurance Solutions Architect, you will engage with customers to understand their specific risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements. Success in this customer-facing role is measured by enabling customers to move sensitive workloads and regulated data to the cloud by effectively addressing these requirements. You will collaborate with internal AWS teams, partners, and customers to enhance security assurance and compliance programs, define innovative risk management approaches, and demonstrate how to automate compliance within the AWS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver security assurance and compliance program enhancements through collaboration with Amazonians, partners, and customers.
• Develop and present innovative compliance and risk management strategies to assist customers in migrating sensitive workloads to the cloud.
• Conduct deep-dive discussions, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations to help customers manage risk and achieve compliance in AWS.
• Convey partner and customer feedback to AWS engineering, support, and business teams to inform technology roadmaps.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience in IT security, compliance, and risk management, data privacy, or security controls.
• Experience in risk management and internal audit, including performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk.
• 2+ years of experience advising customers on architectures that meet industry standards and regulations such as NIST 800-53 and GDPR.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GSEC, or Security+.
• Experience in performing security assessments and information system audits of networks, operating systems, application security, and IT processes.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
