About the Role

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Testing & Commissioning Manager with a specialization in PV Inverters. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires over 10 years of experience. The role involves leading inverter commissioning activities for utility-scale solar PV projects, serving as the technical authority for inverter systems to ensure safe energization, grid-code compliance, reliable operation, and seamless integration with power plant controllers (PPC), SCADA, and grid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review inverter system designs, single line diagrams (SLDs), protection philosophies, and communication architectures.
  • Lead inverter pre-energization, synchronization, and power ramp-up activities.
  • Coordinate commissioning efforts with PPC, SCADA, protection, and utility teams.
  • Conduct Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT), High Voltage Ride-Through (HVRT), power factor, reactive capability, and power quality testing.
  • Diagnose issues such as inverter derating, nuisance trips, communication failures, and grid-related problems.
  • Perform root cause analysis utilizing logs, oscillography, and trend data.
  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports and support the handover to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) teams.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in utility-scale solar PV commissioning.
  • Expert knowledge of both central and string inverter technologies.
  • A strong understanding of power electronics and inverter control strategies.
  • Proven experience with grid-code compliance and utility acceptance testing.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) commissioning experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering is required.
