Senior Consultant Environmental Supervision

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Consultant Environmental Supervision to join its Earth and Environment team. This is a full-time, project-based position located on-site in a remote area within Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on environmental supervision, environmental audits, and environmental management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental audits and inspections, providing support and guidance to contractors to ensure compliance with project environmental requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive environmental monitoring and audit reports.
• Regularly review and update the environmental management system, proposing corrective actions as necessary.
• Oversee the implementation of environmental management systems on site.
• Review and approve Construction and Social Environmental Management Plans (CESMPs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, and other environmental studies.
• Undertake environmental reconnaissance surveys and pre-construction site assessments.
• Review weekly and monthly environmental reports submitted by contractors.
• Report environmental incidents, conduct necessary investigations and reporting, and follow up on corrective actions and plans.
• Develop and implement project-specific communication strategies.
• Implement environmental awareness campaigns and conduct environmental training as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental supervision, environmental audits, and environmental management systems services.
• Demonstrated experience in managing environmental compliance on large-scale projects.

Work Environment

This role is project-based and requires the successful candidate to be based on-site in a remote area within Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position is full-time.
