About the Opportunity

emagine is seeking a Senior PDPL Consultant for a full-time, 6-month contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is designed for a professional with 5-10 years of experience in data protection, focusing on the implementation and operationalization of Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). The consultant will play a critical role in ensuring organizational compliance and supporting various teams in managing privacy-related tasks effectively.

Role Overview

The Senior PDPL Consultant will be instrumental in guiding the organization through the complexities of PDPL compliance. This involves a hands-on approach to implementing privacy controls, monitoring adherence to regulations, and coordinating efforts across multiple departments to maintain a robust data protection framework. The role requires a deep understanding of data privacy principles and their practical application within a corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and operationalization of PDPL requirements.
  • Maintain privacy controls and ensure continuous compliance with PDPL regulations.
  • Monitor adherence to PDPL and assist in resolving privacy issues and incidents.
  • Coordinate with business, legal, IT, and data governance teams to track compliance progress.
  • Update policies and procedures, implementing enhancements as per SDAIA guidance.
  • Support data subject rights handling and maintain accurate Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
  • Conduct periodic compliance assessments, including providing support for Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
  • Ensure proper data classification and the implementation of effective data protection measures.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, reports, and audit artifacts to demonstrate compliance readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience with PDPL or other data protection regulations specific to Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong understanding of compliance practices and privacy controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of established data governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with guidance issued by the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

Experience and Certifications

  • 5-10 years of professional experience, with prior experience in a consulting role focused on data protection.
  • Relevant certifications in data protection or privacy management are highly valued.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, offered on a 6-month contract duration. The role requires a dedicated professional to contribute to critical data protection initiatives within the organization.
