Aajil is a Saudi, Sharia-compliant B2B working-capital fintech operating within the industrial supply chain, serving contractors, traders, and manufacturers. The company manages its entire lending business through an internally developed product suite that encompasses credit decisioning, collections, deal processing, a sales platform, document intelligence, and an AI outbound engine. We are an AI-native organization, where most implementations involve orchestrating AI technologies, including Claude and our proprietary agentic development platform, rather than traditional hand-coding. This full-time Senior Product Engineer position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role is central to scaling deployments, with current operations scaling from SAR 115M to 150M per quarter, and involves shipping solutions in weekly sprints within a flat, low-management culture that emphasizes significant individual ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of ambiguous, important problems from conception through to a live, utilized solution, understanding the real need directly from the source.
• Translate ambiguity into clear specifications, defining what to build, why, and the criteria for completion, while also setting the technical direction.
• Develop solutions independently, leveraging AI for rapid implementation, and ship against self-defined completion criteria.
• Manage the entire delivery process from specification to production, including unblocking issues, deploying solutions, and verifying their effectiveness in real-world scenarios.
• Design and build systems for maintainability, ensuring smooth handover and longevity of solutions, thereby elevating engineering standards.
• Proactively identify and address unflagged problems across deal processing, collections, and revenue streams, taking full responsibility for continuous improvement.
• Own ambiguous, high-impact business problems end-to-end, from understanding the core issue to delivering a system that demonstrably resolves it.
• Demonstrate fluency in both business and engineering domains, utilizing AI to achieve development velocity beyond traditional team capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience using Python or similar languages.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting AI systems on cloud platforms, with a preference for GCP.
• Proficiency in conducting technical discovery with stakeholders to define needs, constraints, and success criteria.
• Hands-on experience in building data pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, utilizing vector databases and RAG-style retrieval for enterprise AI applications.
• A proven track record of owning, shipping, and operating a system end-to-end in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in AI, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangChain or ADK.
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLM) and the evaluation aspects of agentic systems.
• Background in the Fintech or credit domain; proficiency in the Arabic language.

Work Environment and Hiring Process

This role operates with high autonomy, outside traditional hierarchical structures. Full-stack engineers are deployed to address the highest-leverage problems. The team works in weekly sprints, utilizes AI-first tooling, and collaborates directly with internal users (credit, operations, and sales teams), ensuring immediate deployment of developed solutions. This is a senior, top-of-band position, compensated accordingly. The hiring process does not include LeetCode-style assessments. It comprises a recruiter screen followed by two live technical rounds: one focused on scoping and designing a real, ambiguous problem from our operational context, and another involving unaided coding and AI-leveraged building. The assessment evaluates the ability to transform ambiguity into delivered value and fluency in both business and engineering.
