About the Project and Role

Bechtel Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Quality Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is integral to the development of the King Salman International Airport project, where Bechtel provides project management consultancy services. The project involves the construction of three new terminals: Terminal 6, an Iconic Terminal, and a Private Aviation Terminal, designed to accommodate up to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with cargo capacity up to million tons by 2050.

Role Overview

The Senior Quality Specialist will lead the implementation and audit activities of the project quality program. This position involves reviewing contractor quality management system (QMS) plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures. The specialist will also be responsible for monitoring non-conforming conditions, assessing corrective actions, and providing recommendations to resolve complex issues and mitigate performance risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support and advice to the project team on implementing project quality requirements and management system arrangements.
  • Contribute to project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis.
  • Review contractor submittals, including quality manuals, procedures, Quality Plans, ITPs, and audit schedules.
  • Prepare and complete quality audit checklists and participate in quality audits of corporate/project quality programs/plans, including pre-award assessments of potential suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Assess and monitor project activities related to the quality program, including engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, and decommissioning.
  • Review and monitor nonconforming conditions and associated corrective actions to ensure quality program effectiveness.
  • Determine applicable quality requirements for inclusion in selected engineering, procurement, and construction documents.
  • Draft quality procedures for review, approval, and issuance, and draft revisions/amendments to corporate and/or project quality programs/plans.
  • Review and report on new or revised regulatory requirements and their impact on the established quality program.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to mitigate performance risk.
  • Follow up on actions taken in response to audit findings to ensure adequacy of completed corrective actions.
  • Maintain contact with designated client quality personnel to provide status and manage relationships.
  • Provide direction and assign work to quality specialists and others assisting on specific assignments.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead implementation and audit activities for quality programs.
  • Experience in reviewing QMS-related plans, ITPs, and quality procedures.
  • Proficiency in identifying and reporting regulatory requirements and monitoring non-conforming conditions.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting a major international airport development project. The role requires collaboration with project teams, contractors, and client personnel.
