About the Role

Datamatics Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Basis & IBM DB Administrator. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will take ownership of critical enterprise ERP and database layers, ensuring their seamless administration, optimization, and maintenance.

Technical Environment and Scope

The SAP landscape comprises SAP ECC, BW, and Enterprise Portal (EP), all supported by an IBM DB2 database. This role involves managing the environment across both Windows Server and Enterprise Linux (SLES/RHEL) platforms. The administrator will be responsible for the end-to-end performance of the SAP/DB2 stack and managing high-availability replication via DB2 HADR to synchronize data between the primary environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and an on-premises recovery cluster.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide full-lifecycle administration, maintenance, and performance tuning for production and non-production IBM DB2 databases supporting the SAP environment.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot database-level replication using DB2 HADR between GCP and the on-premises Nutanix cluster.
• Perform day-to-day SAP Basis operations, including Transport Management System (TMS) administration, spool management, batch job scheduling, and performance tuning.
• Plan and execute SAP support package stack (SPS) installations, kernel upgrades, and technical component patching.

Dual-OS Management and Disaster Recovery

• Manage, configure, and troubleshoot the SAP/DB2 application and database layers across both Windows Server and Enterprise Linux (SLES or RHEL) environments.
• Administer operating system-specific clustering, file systems, permissions, storage volumes, and kernel parameters, optimizing them for SAP/DB2 performance on both platforms.
• Ensure operating system-level patching schedules align with SAP and DB2 compatibility matrices to prevent service disruption.
• Own technical disaster recovery (DR) readiness for the SAP/DB2 landscape, including executing bi-annual failover/failback tests to ensure business continuity.
• Maintain accurate system configuration layouts and step-by-step recovery runbooks for both OS platforms.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in SAP Basis administration and IBM DB2 database administration.
• Proven expertise in managing SAP environments on both Windows Server and Enterprise Linux (SLES/RHEL).
• Strong understanding and practical experience with DB2 HADR for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Experience with SAP ECC, BW, and Enterprise Portal.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and on-premises Nutanix environments is required.
