The Role of a Software Test Engineer

As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the quality assurance process, focusing on the rigorous testing of web services and APIs. Your expertise will be instrumental in validating system functionality, performance, and security, contributing directly to the delivery of robust and high-quality software products. This position involves working with modern testing methodologies and tools to identify and report defects effectively.

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing of web services to ensure functionality and performance.
• Perform thorough validation of REST APIs, including request/response structures, authentication mechanisms, headers, and status codes.
• Utilize tools such as SoapUI for testing and validating web services.
• Design, develop, and execute detailed test cases and test suites.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams for resolution.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in software testing, with a strong focus on web services and API testing.
• Demonstrated expertise in Web Services Testing.
• Proficiency with SoapUI for testing web services.
• Solid experience in REST API Validation.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, encompassing request/response validation, authentication protocols, header management, and status codes.
• Proven ability to create and execute comprehensive test cases and test suites.
