About the Sous Chef Role at Edge Al Rabie

Edge Al Rabie - Riyadh is seeking a dedicated and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Riyadh. This full-time position is central to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our main and outlet kitchens, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation within established guidelines.

Role Purpose and Contribution

The Sous Chef plays a crucial role in delivering a high level of customer service and contributing innovative culinary solutions for our guests. This position focuses on operational excellence within the kitchen, adhering to standardized menus, and actively participating in the development and training of culinary colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the main and outlet kitchens, ensuring all food items are prepared and presented according to the hotel’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standardized menu guidelines.
  • Monitor production standards regularly to consistently achieve the highest level of quality in all dishes.
  • Manage and control all aspects related to the hotel’s food cost, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
  • Contribute to the development of concept ideas and menus for special events and functions, fostering an environment where culinary colleagues are encouraged to share their ideas.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HACCP standards and all relevant hygiene regulations as mandated by Municipality requirements.
  • Conduct consistent on-the-job training sessions for culinary team members and actively promote health and safety protocols within the kitchen environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Sous Chef position should possess a strong background in kitchen operations with a proven ability to manage and lead culinary teams. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Familiarity with standardized menu guidelines and kitchen SOPs.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and local hygiene regulations.

Work Setting

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the culinary operations of Edge Al Rabie.
