About the Role

لنكس للمقاولات is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Contracts & Claims Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience to manage and resolve contractual claims on large-scale projects.

Role Overview

The Sr. Contracts & Claims Engineer will be responsible for protecting the company's contractual interests by expertly analyzing claims, disputes, and variations. This role ensures full compliance with FIDIC conditions of contract and applicable Saudi regulations, focusing on retail commercial, healthcare, residential, and mixed-use projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage contractual claims, including extension of time (EOT), delay, and cost claims, in accordance with contract requirements and Saudi local regulations.
  • Review contracts, project records, and correspondence to support claim preparation and responses.
  • Monitor project progress to identify potential claim events and ensure timely notices are issued.
  • Provide daily contractual advice to project teams regarding their rights and obligations.
  • Draft and review contractual letters, notices, and formal claim documentation.
  • Collaborate with planning engineers to analyze delays and prepare time impact assessments.
  • Review and respond to claims submitted by subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support dispute resolution through negotiation and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
  • Maintain organized claims records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in final account preparation, variation settlements, and project close-out.
  • Guide project teams on proper documentation practices and contractual awareness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical) from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in claims, contracts, or commercial management within the construction industry.
  • Solid experience working with FIDIC contracts.
  • Familiarity with Saudi construction regulations and local project environments.
  • Background in the legal or commercial aspects of construction is required.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law is an advantage.

Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; Arabic proficiency is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.
  • Understanding of delay analysis methods and planning tools such as Primavera P6.
  • Ability to prepare and review cost claims and variation assessments.
  • Awareness of Saudi regulations and local construction law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proactive, honest, and commercially aware team player.

Preferred Certifications

  • CIArb membership or equivalent.
  • RICS membership is an advantage.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
