About the Role

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated and skilled Supervisor-Engineering to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is based in the Financial District of Riyadh. As a Supervisor-Engineering, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all hotel facilities, contributing to guest satisfaction.

This role involves hands-on technical work, preventative maintenance, and team support. You will be responsible for the upkeep of hotel equipment, ensuring safety standards are met, and supporting the engineering team in delivering high-quality service. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
  • Recommend the replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment as needed.
  • Calibrate all controls, gauges, and meters to ensure accurate operation.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for essential systems.
  • Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies efficiently.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and a log of purchase orders.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and machines to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computer systems.
  • Operate power lifts safely and effectively.
  • Complete the life safety checklist, including conducting fire-pump run tests and generator run tests.
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to ensure functionality.
  • Assist in the development of disaster response protocols.
  • Respond promptly and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Support the team to reach common goals and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
  • Perform physical tasks including reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and performing preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
  • Ability to calibrate controls, gauges, and meters.
  • Skill in identifying, locating, and operating shut-off valves.
  • Competence in ordering, marking, and stocking parts and supplies.
  • Experience in maintaining inventory and purchase order logs.
  • Capability to visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Proficiency in using computers for work-related information entry and retrieval.
  • Experience operating power lifts.
  • Ability to complete life safety checklists, including fire-pump and generator run tests.
  • Skill in inspecting fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
  • Capacity to assist in the development of disaster response protocols.
  • Proficiency in responding to and attending to guest repair requests.
  • Experience in assisting management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
  • Thorough understanding and adherence to company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Commitment to completing safety training and certifications.
  • Professionalism in maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Excellent guest service skills, including welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating needs, and assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining positive working relationships and supporting team goals.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, non-management position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role is based within the Financial District.
