Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, apparatus, and equipment, recommending replacements as needed.
- Calibrate all controls, indicators, and meters to ensure accurate operation.
- Identify, locate, and maintain all shut-off valves for operational and safety purposes.
- Order, mark, and store parts and supplies efficiently, managing and controlling inventory and purchase order records.
- Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently for material handling.
- Complete essential life safety checklists, including fire pump and generator operational tests.
- Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accident and/or disaster response protocols.
- Respond promptly and effectively to guest repair requests, ensuring timely resolution.
- Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching engineering team members.
- Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene are clean and professional at all times.
- Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to W Hotels' standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs.
- Assist individuals with disabilities to ensure their comfort and accessibility.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to achieve common goals.
- Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensure compliance with all quality expectations and standards for engineering operations.
- Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new methods to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.

- Perform physical tasks including stretching, moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Climb up and down stairs and/or service ramps as required.
- Perform other reasonably related job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree issued by a technical school, trade school, or vocational school.
- A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Required Skills
- Technical proficiency in installation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Ability to recommend the replacement of tools, apparatus, and equipment.
- Skill in calibrating controls, indicators, and meters.
- Expertise in identifying, locating, and maintaining shut-off valves.
- Proficiency in ordering, marking, and storing parts and supplies.
- Competence in managing and controlling inventory and purchase order records.
- Experience in inspecting tools, equipment, and machines.
- Proficiency in using computers for inserting and retrieving job-related information.
- Forklift operation.
