About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on tools, apparatus, and equipment, recommending replacements as needed.
  • Calibrate all controls, indicators, and meters to ensure accurate operation.
  • Identify, locate, and maintain all shut-off valves for operational and safety purposes.
  • Order, mark, and store parts and supplies efficiently, managing and controlling inventory and purchase order records.
  • Conduct regular inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently for material handling.
  • Complete essential life safety checklists, including fire pump and generator operational tests.
  • Inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accident and/or disaster response protocols.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to guest repair requests, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching engineering team members.
  • Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene are clean and professional at all times.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to W Hotels' standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities to ensure their comfort and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to achieve common goals.

  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Climb up and down stairs and/or service ramps as required.
  • Perform other reasonably related job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A degree issued by a technical school, trade school, or vocational school.
  • A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required Skills

  • Technical proficiency in installation, maintenance, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Ability to recommend the replacement of tools, apparatus, and equipment.
  • Skill in calibrating controls, indicators, and meters.
  • Expertise in identifying, locating, and maintaining shut-off valves.
  • Proficiency in ordering, marking, and storing parts and supplies.
  • Competence in managing and controlling inventory and purchase order records.
