About the Talent Manager Role

Oliver Wyman is seeking an experienced Talent Manager to join its IMEA Talent Management Team. This full-time position is based in the Riyadh office and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role operates within a demanding, fast-paced professional services environment.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Talent Manager will be responsible for the staffing, development, retention, and management of a consultant population exceeding 80 individuals across the India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA) region. This role involves leading all talent-related matters for at least one practice area, contributing significantly to the operational effectiveness of the business.

  • Independently staff consultants (Associates–Principals) across the IMEA region for designated practices, managing over 80 individuals.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to Industry Heads, Office, and Market Leads, ensuring buy-in for staffing decisions.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Industry Heads, Office, and Market Leads.
  • Understand consultant performance, skills, and development needs to facilitate effective staffing.
  • Align consultant skills, development goals, and preferences with strategic staffing to drive personal growth.
  • Monitor the pipeline of potential projects and proactively address any issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other Talent Managers within IMEA and other regions on various topics, including staffing and business development.
  • Build relationships with consultants to gain a comprehensive understanding of their capabilities, career aspirations, and interests.
  • Manage discussions and information related to consultant wellbeing and work-life balance.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders on strategic priorities, including practice pyramid, capacity planning, utilization, performance management, staffing processes, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Performance Management team to identify consultant training needs.
  • Liaise with HC Operations on all HR-related matters for the consultant pool.
  • Work closely with the Regional Head of Talent Management on various talent projects and initiatives in the IMEA region.
  • Understand the consultant competency model and identify opportunities for skill enhancement.
  • Actively participate in Mid-Year and Year-End review processes, collaborating with the Performance Management function.
  • Review consultant performance weekly with the Performance Management function, discussing trends and proposing solutions to the business.
  • Partner with career advisors and consultants to facilitate meaningful career discussions and planning.
  • Review and interpret reports (*, utilization, staffing, OW Balance) to identify trends and inform actions.
  • Coordinate the production and maintenance of weekly consultant availability long lists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data in Certinia (resource planning database), ensuring starter/leaver, training, time-off, and other data are correctly reflected, with support from TM Operations.
  • Contribute to the monthly Timesheet Variance process.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced, dynamic client services environment, preferably within Management Consulting or a Big 4 Consulting firm.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage evolving work demands and diverse stakeholder needs in a challenging setting.
  • Proven track record of fostering relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance on HR-related matters to the business.
  • Capacity to build trusted relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse personalities and cultures.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, and manage personal time effectively.
  • A flexible attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to undertake tasks beyond the defined job description when necessary.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential data.
  • A team player capable of functioning both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm, integrity, and a proactive approach to completing tasks, including routine responsibilities.

Technical Skills and Language Proficiency

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working with a resource management system is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
