VP of FP&A and Investor Relations

About the Role

Cander is seeking a VP of FP&A and Investor Relations to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and focuses on strategic financial planning and investor engagement rather than traditional budgeting and reporting. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded, analytical, and technology-forward finance leader responsible for the company's FP&A and Investor Relations functions.

Role Context and Impact

The VP of FP&A and Investor Relations will serve as a strategic partner to the CFO, CEO, Board, and leadership team. This involves translating performance into actionable decisions, challenging assumptions, and enhancing forecast quality. The role also includes managing relationships with investors and stakeholders, and building a scalable, AI-enabled FP&A function within a business that operates at the intersection of SaaS, fintech, and payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage annual budgeting, long-range planning, rolling forecasts, and reforecast cycles, ensuring clear full-year views and disciplined forecast accuracy.
• Lead monthly performance reviews covering revenue, ARR, gross profit, margins, EBITDA, OPEX, cash flow, headcount, and key operating metrics.
• Translate financial results into concise executive insights, identifying changes, their causes, implications, and recommended management actions.
• Develop driver-based financial models and scenarios (base, upside, downside) to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Act as a senior finance partner to Commercial, Product, Technology, Operations, and People teams, challenging assumptions and optimizing resource allocation.
• Strengthen governance for OPEX, headcount, CAPEX, and strategic investments, ensuring clear ownership and accountability.
• Evaluate pricing, new products, geographic expansion, partnerships, major commercial initiatives, and M&A opportunities through robust business cases and post-investment reviews.
• Upgrade FP&A systems, reporting, and automation to ensure scalability and reduce reliance on manual processes.
• Serve as a primary contact for existing and prospective investors, lenders, and other external financial stakeholders.
• Prepare Board decks, investor updates, quarterly/annual reporting packages, and ad-hoc materials articulating company performance, strategy, and outlook.
• Manage the capital-raise narrative and supporting materials (data rooms, financial models, KPI packs) in partnership with the CFO/CEO during fundraising or strategic transactions.
• Oversee the investor reporting calendar, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent communication of financial and operating results.
• Track investor sentiment, market trends, comparable company performance, and industry benchmarks relevant to SaaS/fintech/payments to inform positioning.
• Coordinate due diligence processes with investors, auditors, and advisors, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all external-facing materials.
• Utilize AI tools like Claude to accelerate performance analysis, scenario modeling, business cases, and management commentary.
• Interrogate large financial and operating datasets to identify drivers, anomalies, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Create repeatable AI workflows or agents for recurring FP&A tasks and ad-hoc executive analysis.
• Integrate AI tools with Excel/Google Sheets, BI tools, SQL, planning systems, and other finance technology.
• Define where AI should automate work, where human judgment remains essential, and how outputs should be validated.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience in direct partnership with senior executives.
• Proven experience presenting to Executive Committee, Board, and investor audiences.
