Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing training and motivation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations, including HACCP principles.
  • Manage food inventory, monitor stock rotation, and optimize food costs.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients and favorable procurement processes.
  • Conduct menu costing analysis and develop budget plans to achieve financial targets.

About You:
  • Over 10 years of international experience in five-star hotels and restaurants.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office for data-driven decision making.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with effective project management abilities.
  • Adept in problem-solving with a knack for delivering innovative solutions.

Join Hilton as a Commis Chef!
As a Commis Chef at Hilton, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes, ensuring an excellent experience for our guests. Your role is vital in supporting the kitchen brigade and contributing to departmental targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in line with Hilton's standards.
  • Ensure efficient food production within set timeframes.
  • Support the kitchen by helping to control food costs.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all working areas and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Prepare all mis-en-place for relevant menus.
  • Assist other departments as necessary and foster strong working relationships.
  • Report any maintenance, hygiene, or hazard issues promptly.
  • Adhere to hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety laws.
  • Strive to meet departmental targets as part of the team.
  • Comply with all health and hygiene requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef.
  • NVQ Level 1.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team.
  • Passion for food and culinary arts.
  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • Completion of an accredited commercial cookery course or trade apprenticeship.

Desirable:
  • NVQ Level 2.
