Senior Engineer I Multi Technology

About the Role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Engineer I Multi Technology to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This is a full-time, hands-on technical lead position for an engineer with over 10 years of experience, focusing on designing and building Engineered Solutions within both IT and OT systems.

Team and Context

The role is part of a global R&D and Innovation team spanning the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. This team is dedicated to developing next-generation Open Process Automation (OPA) and software-defined automation (SDA) solutions. The work involves bridging current automation systems with future open, software-defined plants, converting emerging standards and technologies into practical solutions, with IT/OT convergence as a core principle.

Key Responsibilities

• Set technical direction through design and code reviews, best practices, and mentoring.
• Lead system design and architecture for OPA, SDA, and IIoT/edge solutions.
• Build solutions hands-on across industrial connectivity, control, edge, and IT layers.
• Oversee lab architecture and infrastructure, including servers, control/edge devices, and CI/CD.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and standards, and present findings to stakeholders.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.

Work Environment

This role is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern. It operates as a hands-on technical lead role without direct reports, within a team of automation and software engineering experts.
