About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking a dedicated Dentist GP Assistant to join our full-time team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This role is central to providing comprehensive chairside assistance and clinical support to general or specialist dentists during various dental procedures. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a dental clinical setting.

Chairside Assistance and Procedure Support

  • Provide complete chairside assistance to general or specialist dentists across a range of diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pedodontic procedures during patient examination and treatment.
  • Anticipate the dentist’s needs and actively practice four-handed dentistry to ensure efficient operative procedures for patients, or as assigned to a dental surgical operating team.
  • Participate directly with the dentist in patient examination and treatment by retracting cheeks and tissues, and by irrigating and aspirating mouth fluids without causing harm or discomfort to the patient.

Clinical and Patient Care Functions

  • Perform essential clinical functions including preparing and dismissing patients, point-of-use cleaning of instrumentation, and disinfecting equipment.
  • Provide post-operative instructions to patients as prescribed by the dentist.
  • Execute expanded duty procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist as required.
  • Instruct patients in post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist.

Record Management and Patient History

  • Review patient’s medical history, alert the dentist to significant problems, assist in updating the patient’s history, and flag the chart to note critical issues.
  • Accurately chart the findings of the patient’s oral conditions as reported by the doctor and record the treatment rendered in the patient’s permanent chart.
  • Maintain supply order and ensure all applicable records are kept as requested by the dentist.

Emergency Response and Professional Skills

  • Maintain and periodically review skills in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
  • Handle medical emergencies effectively until the dentist arrives on the scene, or assist the dentist in rendering emergency first aid until additional medical help is available.
  • Perform other miscellaneous related duties as requested to support the dental team.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time position operating entirely within an indoor clinical environment. The work schedule includes 6 working days per week with 1 day off. Daily working hours are 8 net hours, structured according to a shift schedule approved by the head of the department.
