About the Role

Group AMANA, a leading industrial construction company known for its innovative design-build solutions and commitment to continuous growth, announces the need for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist to join its team. The group focuses on investing in employee development and fostering an inclusive work environment. This role is essential for developing, maintaining, and implementing the company's HSE policies and procedures at work sites, ensuring a safe working environment for all individuals. The position is full-time and targeted towards Saudi talent.

Role Responsibilities

As an HSE Specialist, you will serve as a key liaison to provide feedback to the HSE Manager on site conditions and will be responsible for developing and updating HSE statistics. Key tasks include:

  • Thoroughly review contractual safety requirements and monitor the proper implementation of the project safety plan.
  • Distribute tasks and work to the site safety team.
  • Ensure the project safety plan is implemented by all personnel on site, including subcontractors and third parties.
  • Develop, implement, and audit project-specific safety requirements and programs, including emergency and evacuation training programs, project safety induction program, monthly safety incentive scheme, safety equipment calibration and usage program, and safety training programs for employees and workers (*, tool talks, toolbox talks, external training).
  • Oversee inspection programs for all lifting equipment and other equipment (internal and external), fire-fighting equipment, and safety procedures and equipment for subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement a risk response plan.
  • Approve site selection and inspect Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other project-specific safety equipment, and monitor their use on site.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly site safety meetings.
  • Attend project progress meetings and contribute to safety sections.
  • Prepare project safety management reports, including statistics, training summaries, and incident reports.
  • Investigate site incidents, analyze causes, and provide reports to management including corrective and preventive actions.
  • Inform the HR department of site injury incidents to meet procedural requirements.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of camps (if any), site walks, and maintain regular physical presence on site.
  • Stay updated with international and local HSE rules and regulations.
  • Provide feedback to business unit management for developing systems to collect and record company safety statistics.
  • Train others on conducting internal safety training workshops.
  • Assist in evaluating, training, and developing employees in the HSE function.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates must be Saudi nationals.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a construction-related field is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction and general contracting.
  • Possession of at least one of the following certifications: Full-year diploma in Fire/Safety, NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ5 Diploma, OSHA, NEBOSH ICG 1-2-3, IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, Scaffolding, Fire Fighting, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, 14001, or third-party training.

Additional Information
