About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking an Area Manager, Amazon Now, to lead last-mile operations for the Amazon Now (15-minute delivery) service in Jeddah. This full-time role involves managing a complex last-mile network through multi-channel operations, including Delivery Service Partners and third-party carriers. The successful candidate will be part of a newly formed organization focused on designing and launching new business models across AMET.

Key Responsibilities

As a key link between local operations and country business teams, the Area Manager will drive innovation, test new ideas, and ensure adherence to best practices. Core areas of focus include Safety, People, Quality, Customer Experience/Speed, Productivity, Costs, and Environment. Specific responsibilities include:

• Supporting project execution across multiple organizational functions.
• Resolving issues during discussions between various functions and holding them accountable for deliverables.
• Partnering with other countries to implement and share best practices.
• Maintaining Health and Safety standards within the remit area and promoting a strong safety culture on-site.
• Providing operational leadership by measuring performance, offering feedback, and supporting team development.
• Driving continuous improvement projects to optimize operations, enhance productivity, and reduce costs.
• Conducting strategic planning for the next three, six, and twelve months, with an emphasis on peak-season planning.
• Preparing and articulating leadership updates, Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
• Establishing objectives and metrics for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and customer experience.
• Equipping the team with necessary tools and driving productivity improvements through data-driven decisions.
• Promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing.
• Analyzing and implementing corrective actions to ensure consistent quality and productivity, meeting business objectives across all shifts.
• Leading and supporting a team, managing administrative tasks, and fostering a strong team culture.
• Analyzing performance and suggesting process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service.
• Collaborating with other managers to standardize shift processes.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
• Capable of pushing and pulling wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, and data links.

Work Environment

This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to lead operations for multiple sites/dark stores in Jeddah, managing a team of Area Managers. The position involves interfacing with various functional teams, including finance, DEX, business, HR, operations, tech/product, projects, and procurement, at all organizational levels. The ability to manage ambiguity and maintain an innovative mindset is essential.
