About the Role

Salla, a rapidly expanding e-commerce platform in the MENA region, is seeking a Category Manager for its Mahally segment. This role is based in Makkah, with responsibilities spanning Jeddah and Makkah. The position is full-time and requires 5-10 years of experience. The salary is not disclosed.

Role Overview

The Category Manager will be responsible for defining product assortments, analyzing sales performance, curating top products, and developing product lists for major campaigns. This role involves close collaboration with marketing and growth teams, with decisions directly impacting Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop product lists for key campaigns including Ramadan, White Friday, National Day, Eids, and Back to School.
  • Curate and feature high-performing products from Salla merchants.
  • Identify successful products and merchants, and improve overall listing quality.
  • Coordinate with marketing and growth teams to execute campaigns.
  • Analyze category performance, identify market trends, opportunities, and gaps.
  • Monitor competitor marketplaces and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Manage key traffic drivers for the category, including Search, Email, SEO, and Affiliates.
  • Collaborate with the CRM team on email segmentation, targeting, and product list development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in category management or marketplace operations on large-scale e-commerce platforms, with a demonstrated ability to drive category performance and GMV growth.
  • Experience managing over 50,000 SKUs, including curation, maintaining listing quality, and optimizing product visibility for campaigns.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis, with experience using analytics/BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of key traffic-driving mechanisms (Search, Email, SEO, Affiliates) and experience coordinating campaigns with marketing and growth teams.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market dynamics, with the ability to analyze performance, identify trends, and adapt strategies based on competitor activity.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic and English.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in Makkah, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah.
