About the Role

Salt is seeking a Cloudera Technical Architect to join the team of its client, a leading global IT services, consulting, and business solutions company. This full-time role is based in Jeddah, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Saudi Arabia, and is a key part of the Enterprise Data Lakehouse implementation program, focusing on scaling, processing, and operations within the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) sector.

Role Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive design, optimization, and governance of a large-scale Enterprise Data Lakehouse platform. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise to ensure the platform's scalability, security, performance, and operational excellence, while addressing current implementation gaps and driving future growth.

Key Tasks

• Design and govern the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) architecture in alignment with Enterprise Data Lakehouse standards.
• Define robust architectural patterns for batch, streaming, and analytical workloads.
• Lead performance optimization efforts across Spark, Hive, Impala, and YARN environments.
• Design and provide support for real-time data ingestion pipelines using Kafka and NiFi.
• Implement and enforce comprehensive security controls, including Ranger, Kerberos, encryption, and access governance.
• Conduct thorough reviews of existing Cloudera implementations, identify critical gaps, and lead remediation initiatives.
• Define and establish best practices for monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, and overall platform operations.
• Collaborate effectively with other architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure successful data platform delivery.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Progressive experience of 10 to 15 years in big data technologies and data platforms.
• Proven track record in designing and optimizing large-scale Cloudera environments.
• Experience in implementing secure, highly available, and enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Experience working with delivery teams both onshore and offshore.
• Strong preference for experience in the BFSI sector or other regulated industries.

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience with the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).
• Hands-on experience with core big data technologies including HDFS, Spark, Hive, and Impala.
• Proficiency in data streaming and ingestion tools such as Kafka and NiFi.
• Familiarity with data storage and management solutions like Ozone, HBase, and Kudu.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and metadata management technologies including Iceberg and Hive Metastore.
• Proficiency in security and access management tools like Ranger, Knox, and Kerberos.
• Experience with Cloudera Manager and Cloudera AI.
• Proven skills in cluster sizing, capacity planning, workload management, and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
